Clarence grew up in District Six and attended Parkwood Primary School. He went to high school in Claremont and studied teaching at UWC before moving to Namibia.
He joined P4 in 1997 and since then he has been a stalwart of the station through its evolution into Heart 104.9 FM. Clarence is an intellectual with strong political views. He has interviewed Madiba on 3 occasions, as well as Thabo Mbeki and many other global figures.
