Shamiel Adams aka Shamiel X is an international award-winning radio producer (NY Radio Festival), a hip-hop veteran DJ, MC, poet and teacher. With over fifteen years experience in youth development and media, Shamiel usually brings an edge to the projects he gets involved with.

His initial claim to fame was that of hip-hop DJ at the legendary matinee club ‘The Base’ and later as the first ‘true’ black voice on the first independent regional radio station in Cape Town called Peace Radio. He later received a standing ovation at the United Nations for a poem he wrote entitled ‘Peace, what peace?’.

Shamiel has always been actively involved in the community but more recently he has worked on commercial projects such as ‘Redbull Street Style’ (co-creator and coordinator), and TV show ‘Mzanzi Rides’ (co-creator).

His keen insight and experience in good music guarantees his listeners world-class entertainment every Sunday evening.
