One Sky One World – The 17th Annual Cape Town International Kite Festival
“One Sky One World - Mental Health for All” is the theme for the seventeenth Cape Town International Kite Festival, happening on the 22nd and 23rd October 2011 in Muizenberg, proudly hosted by Cape Mental Health in association with Heart 104.9FM.
Once again, the skies will be filled with magnificent kiting creations at Africa’s biggest kite festival which attracts over 24,000 visitors, including kiters from around the world. Bring along your own kite, or just come and watch the show – it’s a fun family day out with kite-making, kite-flying, various kite competitions, food stalls, kiddies’ rides, and a full line-up of entertainment.
Tickets are just R15 for adults, and R5 for kids, and all profits go to the Cape Mental Health Society, to support their free mental health services poor people in underprivileged communities. Share the spirit of “One Sky One World” by participating or supporting the Cape Town International Kite Festival.
The Festival will be open from 10:00 to 18:00 on the 22nd and 23rd October, and takes place on the lawns surrounding Zandvlei, Muizenberg. There is lots of parking and easy access by train (False Bay or Muizenberg stations).
