NB: Soccer clinics on hold until further notice!
Around the world, soccer is known as The Beautiful Game – and here at Heart 104.9FM, we believe that everyone should have the chance to experience it.
The Heart Squad Soccer Clinics started in 2008, in association with CPUT Greenpoint Juniors. The free clinics aim to provide as many kids as possible with a fantastic environment in which to learn football, from professional coaches, and in safe venues. The Heart Squad also offers progressive training programmes for those who are excelling. “Having been involved in football in Cape Town for more than 14 years, it is quite apparent that there is a huge need to put more time into training and development structures in order to discover and nurture the great talent that South Africa has to offer,” says Nick Feinberg presenter of The Beautiful Game.
All coaches involved with the Heart Squad have Coaching for Hope and Coever Coaching (a FIFA-accredited programme) certificates.
Local soccer heroes, such as the Santos players, visit the clinics on a regular basis to contribute their skills and provide encouragement.
This year’s Heart Squad Soccer Clinics are taking place every Saturday until the 11th December, from 9 to 11am, at Lentegeur Sports Grounds, Mitchell’s Plain.
If your child is between the ages of 6 and 16, and you’d like them to participate, please mail their name, surname, and date of birth to alex@heartsquad.co.za.
